W. Terry Wright, Q.C.


Terry is a seasoned lawyer focusing on corporate governance and regulatory compliance matters.

Terry re-joined Pitblado in January of 2006 after serving for many years in executive positions within the financial services industry. Most recently, he was Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of IGM Financial Inc. (Investors Group) where he was responsible for the legal, regulatory, compliance and public policy issues concerning the Corporation and its subsidiaries. Terry has extensive financial services industry experience serving as past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Investment Funds Institute of Canada and the Mutual Funds Dealers Association of Canada, as well as a director of the Canadian Payments Association, Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments and the Centre for the Financial Services OmbudsNetwork.

Terry has long served the community including having served as President of the Board of Directors of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Chairman of the Health Sciences Centre Research Foundation Inc., Chairman of the Board of both the Victoria General Hospital and the Victoria General Hospital Foundation Inc., Manitoba Chair of the National Mental Health Fund, Capital Campaign Co Chair Red River College and President of the Children’s Home of Winnipeg.
